First Term: (June to September)

Chapter: 1

  • Bhadhur;
  • Listening: Listening to the poem, to the words, pronounce and repeat the words told.
  • Speaking: To speak in simple sentences about the story read and to talk on a given topic.
  • Writing: Do the exercises given in the text. Introduce descriptive writing.
  • Free writing will be done on the topics related to nature.
  • Grammar: nouns, verbs, sentences, adjectives, synonyms, opposites and paragraph.
  • Vocabulary: 10-20 words,idioms and phrases
  • To interview children who are working and talk about child labour
  • Use newspaper articles and read about the laws and discuss.

Chapter:2

  • Dohe : Kabir (life history in story form) and introduce poems
  • listening: Listening to the story and follow instructions given.
  • Speaking: speak about the story .To talk about the given situation and should be able to express in own words.
  • Writing: expressing in their own words, write about poets in their own words.
  • Grammar: Rhyming words, find more dohae which are starting from ka, la, sa etc.
  • Group Project on Kabir collect and present
  • Visit to a temple mosque.
  • Dohe : Rahim (His life history in story form) and introduce poems
  • listening: Listening to the story and follow instructions given.
  • Speaking: speak about the story .To talk about the given situation and should be able to express in own words.
  • Writing: expressing in their own words, write about poets in their own words.
  • Grammar: Rhyming words, find more dohae which are starting from ka, la, sa etc.
  • Sing Rahim Dohae in Assembly
  • Activity: To watch cuckoo and a frog and relate it to the doha read.

  • Speaking: About the story and find pictures and collect information on different art.
  • Writing: To do exercises given in the text.
  • Grammar: using word structure, story writing
  • Research :Different writers during this period ; Amir khusro , Dalpathi vijay and Prithiviraj.

Chapter-5: Hindi sahithya ka itihaas (part-2)Bhakthi kal

  • Listening: to the story and understanding the meaning and expression.
  • Speaking: About the story and find pictures and collect information on different art.
  • Writing: To do exercises given in the text.
  • Grammar: using word structure, story writing
  • Research : Different writers during this period ;Nanak and Surdas /display/present

Second term: (October- December)

Chapter-3 (Ghiloo)

  • Talking about pets
  • Listening: To grasp the meaning of words, phrases and sentences in context
  • Speaking: uses appropriate words and pauses in speech and presents ideas in sequence
  • Reading: To read with proper accent and rhythm and to maintain reasonable speed.
  • Writing: key words, sentences, facts and ideas and compares with characters.
  • Grammar: Relationships (Genders), relative pronouns. Essays on favorites animals.

Chapter 4: ishay jagawoo (poem)

  • Listening: To grasp the significance of stress and intonation. Ideas in a piece
  • Speaking: uses appropriate words and pauses in speech and presents ideas in sequence
  • Reading: To read with proper accent and rhythm and to maintain reasonable speed.
  • Writing: key words, sentences, facts and ideas and compares with characters.
  • Grammar: nouns, verbs and adverbs. Letter writing , summary writing.
  • Draw and describe the things that the poet has described.

Chapter –Sukhi Rajkumar (Story)
